Help?

 

I'm using the 1.34 version and I want to upgrade to 1.42 to add Pieriphery Configurations as they are a (no match with 1.34). I too am getting no connection.

Still can flash with 1.34

Tried
1.38 freezes when connecting to ECU
1.42 no connection
Also tried the old drivers with new version with no sucess.


Any advice, have done alot of reading, haven't seen any fix for this...

Do I upgrade my cable?? Purchase a OpenPort 2.0 Cable?

 

have u tired to uninstall the program, and the drivers... reinstall older ecuflash like 1.31 (i think that was the first version with the corrected endian)???

 

Still no fix for me either. I just bought a used 1.3 cable the other day. Same cable as mine currently, except it will connect with 1.42. I don't understand it at all. My old cable will connect and flash with 1.29 but not 1.42. I didn't want to play the switchey game with ecuflash so I just bought the new cable.

I emailed tactrix a couple times and they are super.. super slow at getting back to people. Their only explanation is that the cable "went bad" (i'm not buying that) and to buy a $190 2.0 cable

I just want to run 1.42.. If I need a 2.0 cable then so be it.. I just want this sorted ASAP.

Im racing on the 29th of this month, and I REALLY want to spend some time playing with V7 on the car..

 

I really don't know. I don't know that much in depth stuff, just how to get it all setup and logging. I picked up a 1.3 cable from a local guy and it linked right up..so maybe the cables just go bad..but it still seems a little far fetch to me.

I tried using my 1.3 cable for the very first time the other day and have issues with it not connecting with the vehicle interface. Tried uninstalling/deleting everything off and starting fresh but same issue. Under the driver file there are two drivers, one that gave an error message when I tried to open it, should I delete that and try the other one? Is there a way to just uninstall THAT driver? I am a newb, just have an updated ROM I am trying to load onto my ECU for the first time to replace the existing one... 2 other people have used their laptops on my ECU without issue, not sure which version of Ecuflash/cable they had, but mine won't connect with my wife's laptop (vista or xp, can't remember which) and my cable (think its a 1.3 boght it over a year ago but haven't used it until this week)
ps. any links for how to assign a new serial number for the cable and for getting the Ecu unlocker?

I think it has been said before but, if you have an older cable from evoscan then it would not work with ecuflash newest version, the work around is to use evoscan to read and write and ecu flash for editing the rom. Just try reading your rom using evoscan to see if it works, for me that is what I had to do.

 

wait a minute, thought Evoscan dont write anything? now im getting confused. I thought EVOscan is used for data logging and ECUflash is for reading/editing(well in excel)/writing

 

Evoscan also reads and writes. I am currently using evoscan to flash my ecu because I can't get ecuflash to work.. I dunno what's going on with it..

 

Not sure how old of cable your talking but I have the 1.3m cable and I run evoscan 2.8 and ecuflash 1.42 with no issues ever.

 

It can easily be some sort of licensing stuff, if you look through www.evoscan.com, you'll see there are 3 types of 1.3 cables, the difference b/w 1.3R and 1.3U is ability of the latter to be used with Ecuflash, which fact is reflected in the price difference. ;-)
