Upgrading Rom

I need some help as to how i go about upgrading my ROM file.

my current factory rom is 96260007 (JDM 8 MR), now everything i've been reading suggests i should upgrade to the 96260009. Im a little confused as to how i actually go about doing this.

I've downloaded the tephra mod v5.10 file which comes with two xml.txt files and a .bin file. In the past i've used HEX files. here is a link to what i downloaded http://www.globalshare.net/evo-mod/v...0fix2-mods.zip

do i simply copy and paste the contents of the .txt files into my existing 96260007 xml file or do i need to find a base 96260009 xml and somehow change my internal ID on my rom to 96260009

Please keep in mind that im a complete newb when it comes to roms, xml's etc so any info needs to be clear and basic for me to understand.

Just copy and paste your contents from the 96260007 rom into 96260009 and flash the tephra modified 96260009 rom to your car.

I did the same as I also have a JDM E8 MR.

i think you both should go with 9653 as there is the world of support for this rom.

i am currently making one, and will be testing this week.

if i straight out upload a 9653 rom, aren't my fuel/ignition/boost maps all going to be different?

of course you need to tweak the new 9653 to work on your car and then copy over your tables.

i wont be able to test this until next 2 weeks, the other guy sent his car to the mechanic.

if you want to test it let me know.
