Dual ECU
My original post was somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but I still contend that if the OP wants more RAM and ROM space, they should look into the possibility of running VIII code on an IX ECU (since I haven't seen a MIVEC conversion for 3g Eclipses yet 
), and wiring in the IX's harness in place of the VIII (hack together one each of an VIII and IX harness extender, if you want a reversible procedure).
This doesn't help the IX guys out at all, but frankly, they have so much extra room as it sits today, they really don't need the upgrade.
Frosty is absolutely right, this isn't just a "plug it in and write a little bit of code" kind of thing; the level of effort would likely be on par with rewriting practically everything.
