Speed Density MAT
Really? So the MAT patch for 96530006 is just needed to log from the fuel temp ADC when not on SD and if running SD, the patch is not needed and logging will be from the MAF IAT adc...even with the sensor physically wired into the fuel temp adc?
"SD Option: IAT Input for MAT - Use 0x03, Fuel Temp ADC_0E for MAT - Use 0x0E"
That must be the only pointer needed to use ADC_0E (Fuel Temp ADC) in place of ADC_03 (IAT ADC). I assume it just changes the RAM look up from one ADC to the other and the RAM Address typically used for IAT is still used through out the entire ECU?

There is an option in the SD xml to set which ADC input (IAT or Fuel Temp) is read into the IAT scaling code. It was left out of the 96531706 xml.
But, from what I remember from way back when, if using the fuel temp adc, then the mat patch is required, which uses it's own mat scaling table, etc.
Are you saying that isn't true now? We just point the option to fuel temp adc, don't apply the mat patch, and just use the SD IAT scaling table?

Yes, I know that. I haven't even looked at the XMLs provided for the 96531706 ROM as I have had my XMLs all set for a while. I'm well aware of the option of using either the fuel temp adc or maf iat adc.

So just to clarify, If I take my GM Air Temp Sensor and wire it to the ecu input for fuel temp all i need to do is place the correct values in the field that says "SD IAT ADC Scaling (Insert MAT Sensor Scaling) under the Speed Density Programming Section? I dont need to worry about the field under MAT that says MAT Scaling?

So if you are running MAF only and want to log Intake Air Temp after MAF you still need to patch the rom and add the values for MAT Scaling which is what I am doing right now, before I try speed density.
