Mitsulogger for iPhone??
It's not exactly flashing, but it's chimp-simple to add protocol support for, and gives you a few tuning options. If you really wanted to get clever here, you could connect the serial interface to a microcontroller, and lay out a simple protocol for telling it how to communicate with the OBD-II and diag connectors; mind you, you're half-way to OpenPort 2.0 at that point.

Regarding porting Mitsulogger and getting rid of the FTDI library dependency: are you just using raw serial then, or are you using libftdi (which I just noticed can be built on Windows with mingw now)?
To use something like this for flashing, would we just need to set up a 5v reference, like on a switch, to initiate the flash? create our own connector and a flip switch on the side?
It won't be used for flashing, just logging data..
I don't think I'll be continuing development on the application for the time being, until Apple changes its policy on access to the hardware layer.

The only real requirements for any of these operating platforms is access to a serial UART that is capable of these 'odd' baud rates that automotive ECU's use.
This app was ONLY written for iPhoneOS and nothing else, at one point in time I had ported Mitsulogger to Windows Mobile, however the devices (USB Host support, or access to a full serial port) was spotty depending on the device. It honestly wasn't worth the effort for a 'Hobby' when my device didn't support it.
To be perfectly honest, the entire "Evo" scene has changed, and I'm not very involved (or motivated) any longer. So its unlikely I'll continue working on any of the projects I had started a few years back.
Sorry.. With all of the contributions I have made over the years to the platform, I have had enough people being disrespectful, and having a false sense of entitlement that I owe them something, that I just lost interest in continuing to contribute. Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone, as most people have been very pleasant to deal with. But over time that has changed.
My car has been "undrivable" for 2 years, the car was damaged when shipped from NY to my new home in texas. It wasn't the shippers fault, well, it was, they had damaged my rear bumper cover and they did the right thing and had it repaired. Unfortunately the Body Shop who got the car, treated my car with a collosal amount of disrespect, someone had taken the car out, and beat the crap out of it, wearing out my clutch and damaging my 1-2 synchro. To put this into perspective, and to give you an idea how easy I am on my car, I've run low 11 second times on the car, and the car has all the goodies to produce over 600whp, however I've never had a clutch or transmission problem EVER with the exception of a TSB repair done when the car was new (5th gear grind)
I have a family now, and my priorities are to pay off debt I owe from my relocation, and other expenses. I would love to be able to Drive the Evo again and have the clutch and transmission fixed properly, but I cannot afford to do it. I also was in a motorcycle accident not long before I moved, which means I can not easily (or painlessly) work on my own cars, which means I have to pay to have any work done on my car. A bit frustrating and Humiliating considering what I used to be capable of.
I've had a person or two awhile back ask me what they could do to help out, and help wrench on the car. Which I appreciate immensely, however in order to get to that point, I need to be able to afford the parts to fix the car.
I have a catch-22 situation, in order to get the transmission repaired properly, I'd have to have it removed and sent to be rebuilt, or buy another transmission, neither of which is really possible for me to do as the only place near by is a Mitsubishi Dealership which was willing to do the work, however they would only swap the transmission if I already had it. And they would have charged a storage fee (plus the inevitable fact that my car stored anywhere would result in it getting stolen and stripped if anyone knew it was there)
Oh well, enough venting, I probably should post this on my website so everyone knows the entire story. But I'd like to stay in touch with all of my friends, and I can be contacted via E-mail (through aktivematrix.com) or my AIM account (as posted here, aktivematrix01)
Hopefully some time in the future I'll pick up where I left off, but I hope the interest in the 02-06 (Evo 7-9) is still there..
I also noticed awhile back that my Oil Light was flickering.. I doubt its anything major as the Oil Pressure sender is likely the culprit, but I won't know for sure until I have some regular service done to the car (Timing belt, etc..) but this will come after the major repairs are done. The thing I'm really concerned about is the possibility of damage due to the abuse of the car when it was out of my sight.
