I looked around in the threads but didn't really see what I was looking for.

Ok here is the low down. I just picked up an IX this week (sold my VIII) I really need to learn how to tune, log and install tephra mods on my own. I had some local guys install tephra V5 and tunes in my VIII but as mentioned I really want to learn how to do this stuff myself. Trying to pick up bits and pieces here and there on the hundreds of threads is just confusing me more and more.

Where can a complete newb learn from step one how to do this stuff? All of this talk of bits and hexa, and ROM's is to much to process if you don't have the basics down first.

I'd like to start with understanding how to flash the tephra mods so I can get rid of the CEL for "no cat" and remove the rear o2. Add a launch control. Here is what I have so far:

I have a tatrix cable for an IX
I have a laptop with ECU flash and a version (not sure which one) of evoscan.

Yup, use the basic links above and just read read read! While there's plenty of info spread in hard to get to places, there's also plenty of how-to's that will help you get very far, very fast. Dedicate some time to really soaking it up.
