Help Please Newbie New to mods

Hey all
I just recently purchased a 05 evo 8 and the previous owner did the tephra ecu mod. it has nlts, valet mode and cel knock light. I have spent countless hours trying to read all of the forums but everything is just way over my head.

Is it safe to keep the nlts on and drive it daily like i would a normal car? and the knock light what is the perks of that and what does it do when it functions? Should this be somethign i should find a way to deprogram off my car ? or is it really a safe system to have ? even if i dont ever use it?

please help
I realize there is a million forums about this I am just lost..

thanks in advance guys
Tim

You will be just fine driving the way it is.

The knock light just lets you know the ECU is detecting knock by blinking the Check Engine Light/Service Engine Soon on the gauge cluster.

If you see the knock light when your under high loads/boost, then you need to look at your tune

As far as the NLTS, I wouldn't think that would be a problem, unless the conditions to activate it overlap with normal driving conditions.

Can you contact the original owner and ask him for his XML file? Otherwise your guessing which version of the Tephra Mods that is on there. That may be a start, then its just a simple switch from 1 to a 0 to turn those off.
