Tephra mod help ** Urgent***

Hi,

I had a flash done for my JDM evo 8 and when received I flashed it to my car. My car wont start now. I checked the immobilsor code and it was right (could not check the immobilisor hex because my origional rom did not have this).

I searched around and found that I can change the FAA bit 3 to 0. I did this and the car starts, I logged it and got the following CEL codes.

Updated: 00:14:52
6 Diagnostic Trouble Codes Found:
----------------------------------------------
P0141 Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2.
P0505 Idle Control System.
P0403 EGR Solenoid.
P0243
P0090
P0513

Could you help me with why I am throwing all these codes and also how I can fix the immobilisor please.

I am really stuck. I tried to flash my old ROM back to my computer so atleast I could still drive it until I sorted this out but when I open it in ECUFLASH it does not all me to write to ECU it stays greyed out. The read from ECU button lights up though and lets me read the ECU.

Your help is appreciated.

Regards

Dale

What ROM did you flash onto your car, and what version of tephra, v7?

All of those errors can be knocked off one-by-one by toggling specific periphery bits. The car should run fine despite the CEL. The o2 sensor thing is the rear one IIRC, and you can disable that in the tephra mod options on v5 and higher (I believe) unless its the heater circuit, and then you need to search on how to do that; I can post the specific link if need be.

Most of those CELs can be be done away with by toggling these periphery bits(if you're using v7, you should be able to find these SUPER easy, the xml is setup so the tables have fantastic notes in them):

FAA bit3: immobilizer
FAA bit1: rear o2
FCA has tons of error codes, I'll just copy/paste the XML and you can figure out which you need to do

<table name="ECU Periphery2 (FCA) Bits" category="Periphery" address="fca" type="2D" level="2" scaling="Blobbits">
<table name="Periphery Bit Number" type="Static Y Axis" flipy="true" elements="16">
<data>P0443, P0446, P0403, P0243, P0090, P2263</data>
<data>P0450, P0451, P0452, P0453 Evap</data>
<data>P0441, P0442 Evap</data>
<data>bit.12</data>
<data>P0031, P0032, P0037, P0038</data>
<data>P1400 MAP Sensor</data>
<data>P0401 EGR Test</data>
<data>P0506, P0507 Idle Test</data>
<data>P0170 (P0171, P0172)</data>
<data>P0134 Front O2</data>
<data>bit.5: P0300 - Set bit.4 and bit.5 to 0 to disable</data>
<data>bit.4: P0300 - Set bit.4 and bit.5 to 0 to disable</data>
<data>bit.3: P0132, P0136 O2</data>
<data>bit.2: P0133, P0159</data>
<data>bit.1: P0421 not in FSM</data>
<data>bit.0</data>
</table>
</table>

So, these are bit 0 through 15, bottom to top. Hope this helps! Try searching for your specific codes in this forum.

You may be stuck with your immobilizer disabled, I'm not certain though.

What do you mean greyed out? I think you need to do some serious searching and reading, i.e. research in this section to answer some of your questions, otherwise pay (or bribe with beer?) your tuner for an hour-long educational session

Recompiles training videos are the best IMO. The first one is pretty basic but should really help you get a grip on xml and ROM editing and flashing.

From there the gurus here should be able to sort you out. Hope this helps.

thanks but I have a tuner tuning the ecu for the first time, and for some reason the car wont start because the immobilzer wont kick in.

Not sure why, I think its the immobilizer hex that may be wrong but I was just trying to see if any of the gurus on here that have had the tethra mod done encounter this problem and how they fixed it.

hi I managed to reflash my oem rom to my computer

all i did was take the base file and the xml and put it in a new location and it worked. Dont know why but it did. Car starts again yay

Still need help on how to transfer immobilisor setting properly to tephra mod. I checked my hex is 004b and my immobilisor codes were all the same but for some reason the oem rom works and the tephra mod doesnt.

Anyone have any ideas?

you might have to raise your valet mode RPM higher for the car to start up.

Everything works, valet is set at 3000.

If i disable Immobilsier bit 3 then the car starts. So it is definately an immobilisor setting.

I just dont understand why it wont work because everything is the same as my oem rom

I checked the page, thats how I learnt how to disable it. But for moving everything across it says copy and pasts the values in.

When I do this I still cannot start the car, for some reason the immobilizer just does not like it.

Just manually type in the immob setting, and make sure you enter it at 0x"004b" or whatever
