Ok, now that I know where we stand. I am gonna take a look at some evo8 wiring diagrams VS each other and an 03 lancer diagram. I am thinking that the wires are slightly different on the 05 evo8 ecu since you said you found some internal rom image file differences. This is the most likely culprit.
