96940011.HEX from the website evoecu.com Don't forget to copy in your immobilizer hex, i just wrote mine down and keep it in my wallet just in case.

But you should patch it with the 96530006 rom heres the in info on it
http://evoecu.logic.net/wiki/96530006 explains some of it
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...6940011-a.html more info there
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...9694011-a.html and the rest there
and here is the rom http://evoecu.logic.net/images/8/8d/96530006.HEX

looks pretty simple to me.

Is he gonna make a MK1.5 i.e. put a 3sgte in it?

Thats where i would be headed but it really depends on what he wants to do with it.

If he is using it for soloII I would get a 4age 20V with an alloy block and find a way to use that. It will deliver more predictable power over a larger RPR/Load range and its alot lighter. The 3sgte is kinda choppy and really heavy compared to a 4age 20V. He could use a NA BEAMS 3sgte those are also nice. Theres a whole slew of engine that he could fit into that car. It really depends on how much car/money he wants left.

I haven't found a single excellent (like here) forum for MR2s I just look around both MR2OC and the forums from MR2.com They are both good but sometimes people don't have a clue about what they are talking about so research is key.

If he is going 3sgte this primer gives a good idea on where the 3sgte stands and what to do with it. It targeted more towards MK2 owners that are just starting to modify but it touches on almost all grounds.

Also more thoughts, I was once thinking to get a 4g63 into a MK2 but a MK1 would be cool also, Its kinda making a hybrid (not like gas electric but Toyo Mitsu, blasphemy!) but it would be left field for sure. And he'll end up with a fast car. Plus the ECU on the Evo is 10 better than the ecu on the MR2 3sgte. As far as i know theres no way to flash it.

Cool man he will be very appreciative, I am forehead deep in my own exploits lol so not sure for him I know he was talking about some silvertop and blacktop engines he could get and was getting mixed results about how to setup the tranny from one? Something about having to move the slave cylinder to the oppostie side of the 6 speed tranny??? I am Prolly not making any sense he would be able to elaborate more than me lol

If thats the case he is probably talking about a 4age 20V, The black top has 45mm TBs in stead of a 42mm tbs and bigger EX ports, and No MAF its Speed density. Also The IN Cam lift is bigger I think like 8.2 mm and The intake ports are reshaped and it has a higher compression ratio 11:1 from 10.5:1. Supprisingly it only makes 5 more HP and the same torque 163HP @7800RPM and 117ft lb @5200RPM red line starts a 7800 and Limit is at 8300.

Well sounds like I got the right man for advice lol, ya that sounds like what he was talking about I know he mentioned the 20v head and was considering turboing whatever motor he went with and was worried about the high compression of that motor. Is that the one with ITB's as well? I know one he was looking at had those

Hey cool man I really appreciate all the help. So let me just spell out for all you guys what I am doing, about 8 months ago one of our gurus of the base lancers discovered how to use your evo 8 ecus to run in our base lancers. I am having an issue with my cel DTC 0069 something to do with the map sensor and/or maf. I am using a stock 399 evo maf and I know that both of these sensors are in perfecto working order. I can reinstall my stock ecu and have no cel come on. Now there is limited info for me with this swap cause as far as can tell only one has had it for more than 6 months and maybe another 2 or 3 others besides me have them installed and for a very short time. As far as I know I am the only one getting this error and I am thinking I might be the only one running an 05 ecu (thanks to you reading through your links I have discovered the 05 seems to be different from the other evo 8 ecus) My next step will be to flash in a rom from a 03 evo although not sure if this is safe to do as I am still new to all of this.

Possibly its a physical error in wiring by what means are you connecting the ECU to the engine harness i.e. the lancer connecters fit the evo ecu, you made a patch harness?

The wiring required only swapping pins 8 and 22 everything else is identical and yes the connectors are the same for base lancer and evo

Timing is changed but in an odd manner, fuel map is kinda jacked. It looks good but is unlikely to work well. It has been "smoothed" but a smooth fuel map doesnt mean much in general other than making a nice looking picture.
