Stock Boost selenoid... Still ?

Hey everyone...

I've been in such a habit of keeping the stock selenoid connected that i haven't looked at ditching it in a long time.

Do we still need to keep it connected ? I'd love to pull it out of the car for sure. I'd imagine we have to be able to remove the code it throws.

Anyone point me in the right direction ?

that use to be an issue... you use to not be able to take the stock selenoid out of the car, you had to keep it connected.

Mine it plugged into the harness, but doesn't have any lines connected. I was also under the impression that it will throw a code if it isn't wired in.

how the hell would it throw a code? mitsucrappy is too cheap to throw in a third signal wire. At least I dont remember how many wires the stocker had I was more worried about putting the new one in. Solenoids are nothing more than electromagnets. I doubt the ecu judges by resistance either.

do all years need to do the resistor? if its not sensing any boost anymore and its not throwing a code then with it disconnected why should it throw a code.

You can disable the CEL from removing your stock BCS in the periphery bit in the ROM.

thats what i was thinking... do you know which bit it is ? which code ?

I'm assuming also that their arent any adverse effects ?

Before the issue use to be the ecu throwing the code and then going into a limp mode so to speak. I'll start digging again

FDA bit. 3.

I dont know the affects of tuning that bit off, but its for the stock BCS codes.
