Hello,

First I am opening ecu unlocker and then Ecuflash with ignition on I am trying to read my rom and it starts for 15 sec and error I am doing everything good but it just wont let me read my rom I have been trying everthing for 2 day now and nothing can any one help me

This is what ecuflash is doing. I have evoscan and it runs perfect with no issues its perfect. I am running windows XP hope some one can help me ?

I would like to add I never uploaded a rom into my ecu yet if it makes a difference I would like to download my rom and edit because it its a ralliart rom I am running 26psi with no problems for 1 year now and drag time is 11.92 sec 1/4 so I really need to see this rom AFR is 10.9 to 11.4. and engine is stock no pistons kits or anything for now

Yes openport 2.0 is conected under the steering to my laptop ignition is on. Yes first I opened ecu unlocker and then I opened ecuflash its starts to read and then stops with that error. I tried to connect for 7 hours yesterday I even had windows 7 installed and I removed it to try windows XP but still nothing. I even removed all software and installed ecuflash with ignition on because I found a thread saying that you should install with ignition on but nothing I have net 2.0 installed and even net 3.0 firmware because for most people that solves the issue but its not working for me.

Also I have a question remember I am a beginner how do you know what your Evo Id is ? Is it the part number on the ECU or does Ecuflash give it to you ?

I have been reading threads for 2 weeks absorbing info to understand more about this cool software for evo's but I cant figure out what my id is.

You never said anything about the battery voltage?

Have you taken it out for a run then tried to read it?

Battery voltage is not low I have a new battery and I also charged it to be sure so this should not be the issue. I have read many threads like you are saying it wont read if the battery is low so I made sure that its not.

My evo has been sitting in my garage for 2 days I did not give it a run first if it matters.

I only have op2.0 plug I do not have flash plug wire do I need it to read the ECU with ECUflash ? I am not trying to flash it with a new rom .

You can't read or write a rom without the flash plug so your going to need to buy one

I also ordered the flash plug last week so I should receive it very soon. I thought that evo 9 did not need the flash plug for some reason I think I saw a video on you tube saying that only earlier version of evo's need the flash plug. I will post as soon as I get it but it should work fine.

thanks allot mate
