You read the evo wiki page i linked up a couple posts back right?

1)Close Ecuflash
2) Add the xml to your xml in the evo rommetadata folder
3) Goto the periphery settings and set immobilizer bit to 0
4) Flash car

You must be editing the wrong xml file then.

Open up your RomID.xml and see what it inherits from if its not evo7_base or evo9_base then just add it to the bottom of that xml.

Thank you to all, really, thank you very much!!
Finally, I could not start the engine, but I eliminated the inmovilizer. The Ecu it´s ok, the car tried to start, but, when I scanned the Ecu, it gave to me the P0340 code, so, It´s the cam sensor position.

Today, I will change it and I hope that everything goes out well and the car start!!!!

the I tell you guys how it goes!!!

Make sure the ecu to the cam sensor is wired in correctly.

the red warning light is the cat overheat light it's not supported on the newer roms , so either join the wires to the sensor (under the drivers seat ) or take the bulb out of the dash , it has no other purpose than to tell you if the cat gets too hot , it was discontinued after the evo4 .

bumping this thread up. got jdm E4 with swapped VIII ecu and rear screen defroster doesn't work. is it something ecu/connection related or shoud I look for the problem somewhere else ?

when turning rear defroster on/off there's slight ticking sound somewhere from under steering wheel. does that rule out ecu/wiring problem and I can say it's turning on but no power reaches till rear screen ?

defroster has no connection with eng ecu , the click is the defroster relay clicking in , test across the 2 rear window connectors for 12v when switched on if not look for blown fuse
