Well... you are paying for a service, and it sounds like you are getting that service - so all is well in the world of business

I would love to have alt maps that have an alt mivec. tho having a radio button like the alt map trigger setup so you could do gear based or alt map based.
It would make using alt maps for fuel economy with cruise so much easier.

Guaranteed they can't beat my tune; but I'm not fronting the $600 to prove it ECUFlash or Cobb AP, the tune is only as good as the tuner. It just sucks Cobb won't touch ECUFlash because I know they are good tuners.

Safely, I agree But i am sure even 1 peak hp makes them a winner, so it wouldn't be worth trying, lol.

Yeah, that would be awesome! We have a dyno day in the not so distant future. I hear some local tuners are gonna try and show up and put their OpenECU skills to the test.

This happened in the Subaru world. There was a great mind that found all their ECU tables and such. Cobb purchased him. The OpenSource community has since suffered.

I bet if Tephra worked for Cobb, it wouldn't take over 7 months to fix known issues.

Oh how slowly the corporate wheels turn. Cobb is no different than any other big company, it takes FOREVER to get really simple stuff fixed. That is the really nice aspect of open source, somewhere, sometime, there is someone with nothing to do that can fix it, without permission or budget issues .

If Tephra worked for Cobb I think the number of AP's sold would drastically increase

sorry... pet peeve of mine... there is very little, if anything, about EcuFlash that is open source. If I cannot go to their website & download usable code, or commit changes to the project, it is not open! Just ask some of the people around here about the XML fixes they have submitted but have not yet been made part of a update/release.

also, while we're on the topic, there is very little about TephraMOD that is open source! (-: However, this is mostly due to the fact that few people on here would know what to do with a disassembled ROM, TephraMOD or otherwise, if they had one. Also, just as Tephra is able to disassemble the stock ROM, so are we to freely do so to his modified ROM.

please don't construe these as attacks on the respective developers!

I think the context of the post you replied to was in-line with your reply....
