Controlling 3 Port Boost Controller with Tephra v5.10

I was wondering if I can control a 3 port electronic boost controller (such as Grimmspeed's unit) with the attached rom features. I am using Tephra v5.10 90550001 and it doesn't have all the features of some of the other roms (I drive a EDM Evo VII). All I need to set is wastegate duty cycle per RPM, I don't really need error correction as the car is only used in race situations. I am tired of aftermarket boost controllers!

Dan,

Hit up Jay at BoostedTuning. He is the "resident expert" on ecu controlled boost.

Could use assistance from EcuFlash people...

Now I understand I can go via load based wastegate control, but I have not seen anyone specifically say if it works with a 3 port solenoid or not.

That being said, were it says Max Wastegate Duty #1, is that the base wastegate duty cycle? It doesn't match USDM Evo's load based wastegate terminology exactly.

I use V7 and a Prodrive 3port without any pills in the lines. I use the boost control function like an EBC mostly because I have not really figured out the error correction stuff. (I zero'd out all the correction tables) It just boosts to the WGDC I set it at.

It should work as you described by just controlling WGDC but you will overboost in higher gears unless you use the gear dependant WGDC tables from V7 to tweak the WGDC profile per gear.

I'm curious as well if, and or why, this might be a bad idea, it seems to work.

Well... V7 is quite different then the V5.10 I am using (I have setup 3 port boost controllers on IX's already). I basically want to set a Wastegate Duty Cycle per RPM curve. I don't really care about error correction because we are running at or very near 100% duty cycle most of the time anyways. I am more concerned about being able to turn down boost slightly in practice sessions (our electronic boost controllers aren't reliable in this simple request!). I guess I will just have to go out and test a few theories and get back with everyone, that mean's I will have to borrow a solenoid and wire and plumb everything in without knowing if changing these settings will have any real effect on the turbo... I just wanted to complain a bit!
