Help me pick out a new Laptop for Tuning

Well my laptop is broken, so I need a new laptop. Right now Im limited to what I can get from walmart, they have a LOT more laptops online than they do in store so there is a bunch to choose from. Reason is I have a walmart credit card and Im using my cash right now to finish my build, ya Im 19 so I dont have a regular credit card yet as my parents have **** credit so Im on my own. Enough about me heres a few I was looking at:

1.) http://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-110-3018CL/14649383

2.)http://www.walmart.com/ip/Acer-LU.SB002.275/14906552

Price isnt a huge deal but would like to stay under $400 if possible. Primary use is internet and tuning. Dont watch movies or play pc games. I do go on youtube alot tho. Any help is appreated

The Acer is better spec but I have had a history of reliability problems with AMD/ATi based computers. In light of that I was suggest you go with the HP. Other than that, either of them would do the job.

On a side note; its much easier to tune with a lager screen. I'd look for something with a 15" screen or lager.

Toshiba for reliability IMO, or Lenovo.

I have noticed that you can still get some of them with XP-pro as an alternate operating system instead of win7.

If you plan on going Tephra v7 with big-maps, then the wider screen versions are better/essential.

Im a computer retard, I can use them fine but what makes one better than the other is where I get lost. All i know in ram is how fast it its and hard drive stores ****. lol I like HP as I had a HP desk top thats why I was looking at it then the acer as a friend has a laptop by them and its nice.

As far as screen size I was thinking smaller for portablility. But I do plan on using v7.

I have a Dell Mini 10 and it works well for YouTube, browsing, tuning. The reason I chose this over something like an EeePC is because the Dell has a pretty decent sized keyboard for a netbook. The only down side is that it only has 1G RAM. You may want to upgrade to 2 GB but it's not a must.

I'm using a slightly older version of the HP (running XP) in the OP. Works brilliantly.

+1 on the Dell Mini. I leave mine in the car most of the time. Running XP and a 16GB Solid State Drive. It fully boots in about a minute, will run on battery for 4-5 hours, and is much better for temp swings and vibration in a car with a SSD.

I would chose the HP over the Acer... have one of each (minis) and the HP just works better.
