Not gonna work with the wrap. Take it to a muffler shop and have them cut it out and put a stainless pipe in it's place. Done deal.

So replacing the flex pipe with just a straight 3" pipe is probably not going to work due to no play at all from the engine to the exhaust. Any input?

I as well as most others don't have a downpipe with a flex section. I am not a mechanic but I assume you would be fine to replace it with pipe. I have not had any issues in this regard.

do you have spring bolts or straight bolts connecting your downpipe to the o2 housing?

Currently I have a v-band coupler at the o2 housing end. Prior to that I used the stock spring bolts with the same down pipe (minus the v-band) and an EPM dump. I don't think the spring bolts even allow for much movement. As long as your exhaust fits well and is in good condition I can't see why running a piece of stainless pipe in place of the flex pipe section is gonna make much of a difference. If you are not wanting to take my word for it ask a reputable vendor or tuner on here.

even with an exhaust leak, i don't think you would pull such a lean reading. i had one on my o2 housing and still had a fairly decent AFR. i am thinking that the wideband wasnt calibrated.

If I'm not mistaken, there's no calibration to be done on the Zeitronix wideband...
