A Little Tip

Hey Guys,

thought i would post a little tip not sure if anyone else has but here goes,

If your like me and cant log Boost or log your boost controller but want to see your boost plot in Virtual Dyno or what ever your using, you can do this,

open your log, in the JDM MAP field type in the formula,

=LOAD/6.895-14.7 where LOAD you click on the load cell correspondent to the boost you want to display,

example at 150load in the same line i type in the JDM MAP cell =LOAD/6.895-14.7 where i typed load i would have click the load cell which was 150 it will then give me a PSI reading which in this case is 7.05psi

Once you have done 1 JDM MAP you can then drag the cell down your whole pull and it will populate the fields, then save and load it into your VDR and enjoy your boost plot

I have attached an example VDR, i know i need to tighten my WGA but im out of injectors up top anyway so i have to wait for injectors to come

also ignore the power i was going up a hill lol usually around 350-360whp

Perhaps a noob question, but what VDR software is that exactly? I am using virtual dyno room (the Excel spreadsheet based one) and I don't think it has that type of output.

you might want to clarify which load you were seeing. obviously raw would be best here??? as the others are compensated.

Using load for boost wont work because not ever car/mods/turbo combo hit the same loads at the same boost.

ie a stock motor IX, no cams, stock turbo may hit 280 load with 25psi, but a Cammed motor with portwork and a big turbo may only need 20spi to hit 280.

Also, intakes mess with the load reading, regardless of boost level. Another reason this wont work.

Great idea though

nice if it was right widge but its not. it maybe for you and some but load does not follow boost always!
ps. why arent you logging boost. its a very cheap and easy install. probably zero cost for many who don't realise it.

I have a ADM car not JDM so i dont have the MAP sensor standard, its one of my many things to do as i want to move to SD very soon

Thoe - with a tightened wastegate you should be able to hold 22+PSI @ 7000rpm as you can see i can only hold around 17psi

So let me get this straight, because I can't get the boost plot to show up to save my life. Copy this.... =LOAD/6.895-14.7 into evoscan jdmmap formula. And then put the corresponding boost from that line into that column? Is that correct?

You open the log file in excel and add that formula into the JDM MAP column, although as others have said its not accurate but for now and for me this is matching my AEM Truboost Gauge

So when you select the JDMAP cell at the start of your pull type =then click the load cell/6.895-14.7 and press enter, you can then drag the corner of that cell down your entire pull and it will populate

u can just make a formula in evoscan to do it... if u lazy like me (will slow the logger as its logging one extra request)

(not that i am using this, my gm3bar maps works fine)
