Flashing the Evo with TephraV7????
Ok just one question for you guys out there, can I just flash the V7 over my stock? I know I know I have to change the Immobilzer code in the V7 to my stock code, but after that is there anything else that needs to be done?? Will the car run alright? Ive looked at the Tephra file and it has a whole lot of new things in it compared to my stockflash but I also noticed that you can turn lots of those options on or off. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks in advance!
you will have to go through and put in the info your car currently uses. Some of it may be correct but as a rule you should check each line to see if the data = data
fuel latencies and scalings are an example, but there is more, if you grab the V7 big maps on fuel and ignition those maps will need to be massaged. And importantly the whole reason for V7 such as boost control needs to be addressed.
I'd figure an hour or more of checking and adjusting map time before you should get in and drive.

Lean spool if you're using it and you've changed it

As far as I can tell, the V7 I downloaded has the stock injector scaling ( 513 ), the Maps are relatively the same +- 0.1 here and there. The maps are larger going into a higher load threshold than the stock. but im sure there are many other differences that I cant see with a quick look over. I havent compared all that much but this was just a quick glance. I'll give it a look over and deffinately educate myself before making any changes.
This is probably a dumb question and I dont wanna thread hi jack but Im using the bastard ROM from a 2005 EVO 96940013. just tuning with out tephra Ive been using the definition file from 40011 (seems to work great) Is it okay to just use the Tephra 96539706 Rom? Im assuming there should not be any issues but I just wanted to double check. Any experience with this?
Ok I've looked at the Tables you listed here, I still have a few questions.
Immobilizer :
The Tephra has a Table called immobilizer Hex, what is it and do I have to change anything in the table? I can not find a table like that in the Stock Rom so I'm just checking
Fuel :
High Octane Fuel Map : Looks the same to me besides being broken down by 250 RPM instead of 500
Low Octane Map: Same as above
Timing:
Alright a little more confusing here since the stock Map has 3 seperate Maps and the Tephra only has one. I'm not sure if its a good idea to run just the one Map but I'm sure you guys know better than me!!
MIVEC:
Tables all seem the same

Set the same as stock
JDM / Idle / Lean spool im not to sure about haven't read to much into it, so I'm not exactly sure.
Ok one last thing, if I can go ahead and flash this I really need to get the Rear O2 Patch in since I dont have the Rear O2 connected. I'm going to assume that the ECU will put the car into some kind of " Limp Mode " due to the DTC being stored in the ECU. Thanks guys any info will e greatly appreciated !!!
If you want you could send me your stock rom and I will go through it for you and set everything to the stock values and scaling the fuel/timing maps to be more useful for you. I've helped a few local people to me set theirs up and wouldn't mind helping someone over the computer.

I'll definatley keep that in mind man! But can anyone help me out on what the Immobilzer Hex is?? I guess I can just try and plug in my Immobilzer code and see what happens. I 'll just have to make sure that the Tephra options are turned off for the time being untill I have a firm grasp on what the hell im doing!!! LMAO
Alright, I flashed the V7 onto the car! everything seems to be pretty much in order. I didnt massage to many of the maps just looked them over and as I said above they all look pretty close to stock. I took the car on a little quick test drive and noticed some differences. first one I noticed was that after the flash there is a constant on and off clicking noise coming form the motor at idle, its dark so right now I dont have the light to look for it right now. Once I get more info i'll post. Secondly the car now only boosts 16psi as opposed to 19/20 that the stock Rom was producing. Does anyone know how to get the boost back up or what that ticking noise is???? Thanks again for any info!!!
Regarding the boost, you'll probably need to increase the base wastegate duty cycle table a bit. If you'd like more detailed help/instructions, feel free to pm me
