which Tactrix cable should i get

i'm looking datalog and tune my 06 RS.

Tactrix website only has the Openport 2.0 for $169

Evoscan website has the 2.0 cable for $217
but they also state that the 1.3U is also faster for evo 7/8/9

i like the 2.0 because it can do standalone datalogging without a laptop, so i can datalog on track.

why is there a big price difference between Tactrix and Evoscan 2.0 cable

should i get the 1.3R, 1.3U or 2.0.

Tactrix 2.0

Evoscan 2.0

Evoscan 1.3U
http://www.evoscan.com/evoscan-gps-o...rsal-usb-cable

Evoscan 1.3R

I don't think the 2.0's standalone logging is compatible with the 8/9 ECU.

Get the 1.3U for $137.

The 1.3R won't work with ECUFlash.

I say get the 1.3U and don't look back.

I haven't used it myself, but there is a logcfg.txt file for 8s and 9s.

Personally, I'd get the 2.0 so you don't have to buy a new cable for if / when you go to a X.

BTW, you have to buy an adapter for the 2.0 to work with a 8/9. It's like $13.

I purchased the 1.3R by accident. I have to flash with EvoScan, but it works. Just an extra step. I make changes to the ROM in ecuFlash, save, then flash with EvoScan.

I like data logging with my laptop so I can see the results right away and make changes when I stop the car, like when I get to work.

Too bad I can't make changes on the fly.

Ive got a 2.0 and I do stand alone logging on my 8. I didnt have to buy any extra connectors, mine came with the flashing cable. I bought it through evoscan.com though, sku is op2.

nice, so the 2.0 cable will do stand alone logging for evo 8/9/10. this is the feature that i want the most because i want to log while i'm on track but don't want a laptop in my car. how fast is the data rate when logging stand alone, is it slower without laptop.

also, my friend has an evo 10 and i might want to tune and log his car sometime.

what's the difference between the Tactrix 2.0 and Evoscan 2.0, there's a big price difference.

Anyone know the difference? Some people are saying 2.0 doesn't work and others are saying it does. Whats the correct answer? lol...

Also another thing to take into consideration is if you want to do any DMA tuning or Live tuning like a regular standalone.

Stand alone logging works. You need to install the beta version of ecuflash and update the firmware on the 2.0 for it to work though. The 2.0 that Evoscan sells is the same as the one tactrix sells its just got all the options and different flash connectors included. This is why the price is more. You can buy the 2.0 from Tactrix without a license for the ecuflash software. This is done incase you have evoscan and want to use that application for flashing instead of ecuflash. It saves you a couple of bucks i think.

As far as the difference in logging rate, im not too sure i havent compared the stand alone logs to my tuning session logs.
