new and need some help

i just got my 1.3r cable today and was going to go do some logging. but im unable to read my rom this is what shows up on ecuflash. is there something im missing? thank

I know it is a stupid question but do you have your key to the on position?

select ECU= "EFI"?
Device set up =Evo Scan USB cable?
"Mitsubishi" box checked?
Gen3 evo 8/9 selected when reading ROM?

Unable to connect to vehicle interface. Either bad cable connection or damaged cable or not sure but might be wrong tactrix cable for your application. I have the openport 2.0 wireless connector with my evo 8 rom and that works. Good luck man.

Ya the key is in the on position. I just woke up so I'm going to try it out again. Is there something I have to set up in ecuflash or no

Did you plug both cables? The tactrix and the ecu reader one that plugs in next to it? I had the same problem until I realized they both have to be plugged in to read he rom.

Make sure you select the proper items when you "Read ECU".

Ok I'll try it again. And yes both cables were plugged in

Ok just tried it 3 more times and comes up with the same thing the only thing I can think of is when I first plugged in my cable my computer came up with new hardware found and it had you install it and when it was in the middle of installing it came up with a message something like the windows logo isn't recognize but I pushed continue anyway?????? So I dont know if that has anything to do with it

My earlier post as legshow said are the boxes that need to be checked off to read your ECU in the set up dialog. Now I'm thinking you don't have the open port drivers installed?
