Benefits to tephra V7
Benefits to tephra V7
Hey guys i am here to ask what the benefits to getting tuned on tephra V7 are? i was told that people like the two step better? what is the difference. and what are the benefits to disabling the rear o2? just curious to what the pros and cons are to tephra as i am looking to get my car tuned in the next few weeks. the tuner is asking $40 more for tephra so just trying to do some research. thank you for the responses.
i know you can set more than one map but what does this allow you to do? can you get your car tuned on two different octane ratings? for example have a map tuned for E85 and by pushing the IC sprayer or whatever it switches the map to a 93 octane tune? does this allow you to run e85 but if u need gas and there is none around u can fill on premium? any help is appreciated
thanks again

What I meant by the 2-step was the launch control, sorry for the confusion.
Disableing the rear O2 and simulating its signal allows you to run catless without throwing a code. It includes many of the latest patches for the periphery bits and force passed/ready codes for inspection if you have OBD2 testing in your area.
The map switching allows you to swap maps just as you said. Have seperate maps for E85 or Meth and 93 oct. The big maps allow for greater resolution when tuning. Making for smoother timing and fuel maps.
I would get a tactrix cable and begin dataloging and checking out the different options.
Another program highly recommended is Virtual Dyno.

The most useful feature for me is the alt maps. I basically have both tuned for 98 which is what I get here, but one is conservative (and low boost) which is the daily driver one. The other is higher boost and more aggressive tuning, for when I get bored of traffic (or the track).
