2 Step on JDM Evo VIII - Tephra V7

Hi all,

Has anyone ever had problems with activating the 2 step on a JDM VIII? We can't seem to get mine working. The basic one was working before I had the car tuned, someone activated it for me before I switched over to Tephra. Any help would be appreciated, there is a race this weekend so I want to try and be ready for it!

I have a JDM evo VIII on V7, no problem here with the 2 step

are you sure it's not moving a little bit?

send your map and I'm sure it will get solved.

Only problems with NLTS, because of the missing upper clutch switch

Still no go! My car must be a lemon! I'm sure the car isn't moving when I try it, and I have the gas pedal floored.

The basic 2 step was previously working before Tephra. What could cause this?

Check the sensor that connects to the clutch pedal and see if it is connected.

The one that is there so i have to step on the clutch to start the car? If so, it's plugged in.

I am not at home or I would be able to post a pic for you but no not the one that engages to start the car. If you lay on you back and look up under you dash then slightly push down your clutch pedal you will see a button that is engaged when the pedal is up. When you push down the pedal it releases the button causing your 2step to engage. I know this because I unplugged mines and I enables me to launch at any rpm. let me know if you see it there is a plug that plugs into the back of that sensor make sure it is plugged in.

The Tephra rom uses speed as the trigger, not the clutch switch.
Can you log your speed in Evoscan?

Hey..

Is this the one you were talking about? With the blue circle around it? I unplugged it and tried it, still doesn't work. BTW, that same connection goes to the other plug that I plugged out to start the car without the clutch. With this plugged out the car can start without the clutch also.

Here's another NLTS thread that references what I did to get it working (given that you're using 96260709).

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...ug-ecus-2.html

I had to wire in the clutch switch, then did the rom changes stated in the final post. You will lose the ability to map switch with the Auto ICS button.

I see that another member has just asked a similar question in another thread, so if you are using 96260709, let me know and I better get back in touch with d1kid, as he superseded this fix with a version that doesn't disable the AutoICS map switching function, which I have been running for a fair while now.

Tuner says that's not the issue. Before Tephra, my 2-step was working, it was set at 6000RPMs. It's only now it isn't working...
