XML for my ROM on diffrent laptop?

Ok so later today i am going to hook up my car for the 1st to my laptop to ecuflash. now the car has been tuned with v7 but though a different tuner and different laptop. Do i need to get the xml from him for my rom or do i just download the corresponding one for my rom id?

rom

download the rom from your car then save it to your laptop. Then you can make whatever changes you need to, save it as a different file name and flash it back to your car. That way you can flash back your previous tune if necessary.

rom

you'll be able to open up the rom but the tephra options won't be visible without the xml.

xml

follow the tephra v7 instructions and try copying the xml into your ecuflash directory first, then download your rom using ecuflash and see if the tephra options are there.

im having weird problems ever since i started using 1.43 ecuflash to help with the ACD breakdowns....

Now, when ever i read the ROM, i can click and open all the tables like fuel and timing, but asoon as i click onto the tephra table to expand it, it just closes ECU flash instantly.....
no errors, just closes it.

You should check .xml file with any .xml-editor to see for incomplete definitions under that category. Newer Ecuflash versions force close once you address the table with imcomplete/erroneous definition. To rule out the problem completely you may need to check the final .xml as well as all the .xmls it inherits, other option is to get set of .xmls from someone who have them right at hand. Not me unfortunately, as I run 88580714.
