Im glad this discussion morphed into what it did. Last night I started looking into setting the WGDC=100 table as high as I could and noticed that Im dropping down to 210 load at redline and my wgdc=100 table was set to 200. So I went ahead and dropped it to 190.

Boosted, do you think I should leave it at 200? Im in the process of turning boost up to 22 at redline, so load will be higher. Just dont think its as much difference as the example you posted. But I dont want to leave much on the table either.

i have found that setting the WGDC=100 too high affects high gears. for example i had it at 200 load and found out that 6th gear in the IX would cause it to shoot to 30psi. not good on a stock turbo.

cheers

IMO, You had a different issue making that problem.

I dont know, But I have tuned many cars and WGDC=100 does not make it over boost in high gears.

Also, its technically impossible. Load relates to boost. Like on my car, 200 load is 12 psi. So at 12psi, no matter what gear the car is in, the wgdc=100 feature stops.

Will you post up what your target boost map looks like Jay? I am very curious and am tuning a project car utilizing your boost method. Do we rescale the Target Base Boost map as well?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Just opened the table and walla, it was rescaled. Will you still post it up though please. Would like to take a look at it.

Edit 8.2.12:
So I had a chance to test this method of boost tuning today prior to a hardware failure of me beeting on my car for 3 years. Your right, if you utilize the 100% WGDC <load table and set it at a higher load, and rescale the Desired Boost and WGDC Base Tables, to reflect the 2500 RPM start scaling you show in your test maps, and the control through the pull is so much more defined and allows for "full cradle" of your desired boost curve or flat line like me, and tighter tuned. I like this method so far. Thanks for your great share.
