So benchflashing is the only option for the 2013 right now?

Until the XMLs are done. I have looked at the GSR stuff and started some disassembly based on 2012 stuff but got lazy. Its way easier for me to benchflash than it is to take the time to do the disassembly.

Blah, that stinks. Can't afford that kinda downtime to send an ECU out, guess I gotta wait.

Downloaded the ROM but the only table I can edit is timing, ha ha. Not very comprehensive.

Bringing this back from the dead. It seems that 2012-2014 are all interchangeble as well.

Wish I saw the updates to this thread earlier! I had a 2012 MR on the dyno yesterday and the third "Mode 23" enable field was not finding the right address in the definition I downloaded from golden's website so EvoScan was crashing when trying to connect. Had to stay conservative on the tune for obvious reasons but still made smooth consistent power thanks to a well developed base map I copied over.

Looks like I can convert him to a 2013 or 2014 rom or break out the hex editor to find that proper xml definition for the Mode 23 field that was wrong.

Small issue to report and see if others have experienced.

Today, had a 2014 GSR that wanted dual maps. I already tuned him on both fuel types, but not in the same ROM. So I bench flashed 2010 GSR Tephra V1 onto his ECU. Worked fine. But when I got in the car and started to move the tunes over, when I edited the Alt Injector Scaling and flashed the car, the car would stay with both fans on, not start, etc. I could edit other Alt Map tables, but if I edited the Alt Injector Scaling, it wouldn't work. I then bench flashed the 2008 GSR Tephra V1 ROM onto the car and it was fine.

If there any reason the 08 GSR ROM isnt the Universal ROM for all the EVO X's?

Also, anyway to get around bench flashing to change ROM years? I heard there was a way.

Question possible to flash 56920008-based ROM into EDM 2014 50855085?

As we're not successful yet:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...0855085-a.html

Is it possible to flash an 56920008-based ROM on an 50855085-based ECU?
IMHO it should be no problem as we can flash between 2012 & 2014 USDM ECU as well?
>> USDM 2012-2014 MR interchange

Any concerns in doing this?

I have had the same exact problem on a 2011 gsr with tephra v1 on that car, if I edit the alt injector scaling, it will fail to send the reset ecu key and keep the ecu in flash mode (hence you hear fans on etc)

Anyone ever find a remedy to this?

You can't just copy and paste everything over from 08/10 to 11+ because they changed a bunch of load calc related stuff that will throw it off if you do. Other than that, there are some advantages to using a 2010 on an 11 and up. I would use the 10 over the 08 because of the map table resolution. There are disadvantages as well to using an 08/10. Depends on what your set up is as to whether they outweigh each other.

I haven't experienced it directly but try using the 2010 rom on your 2011 assuming that you were trying to overwrite with a 2008.

I think I read that the latest ECUFlash is capable of flashing more roms without bench flashing now so it might be easier than ever.

yea this was a bug that existed in 1 version for a short time. it should be resolved by using the newest version of ecuflash. see this thread for details:

Sorry if this is rudimentary, but I've been out of tuning for several years raising my kids. I haven't played with ECUFlash since 2010, via CeddyMods on DSM's.

If I understand this correctly.

I can download the 2014 GSR ROM bench flash it to my 2012 GSR, and run Tephra V1 correct?

From Golden's site.

My car has: 5801005 (2012 ROM).

My car wants: 5958005 (2014 ROM).
