FreeFuel ECU patch - a flex fuel implementation to Evo ECU
The tunes are all in lock down. I had to request a separate ROM with valet mode because I can't even adjust my rev limit LOL. And that's with me knowing my tuner for more years then I can remember. Of course I understand, though.
"Cant trust no *****".
P.S. But seriously, It's 1,000,000x worth it.

Flex Fuel, whether on the stock ecu or aftermarket, is definitely worth it.
Although forcing people to buy a specific kit is not something I can agree with. It works just fine with the Zeitronix ECA, or any ECA with 0-5v output. If the tuner will charge a small fee, like Tephra XMod V3, to help pay for the development of the flex fuel on the stock ecu that seems perfectly fine. Then again, you cannot VIN lock the rom either.

No way was I paying TSComp $1,000 for FlexFuel.
Are folks still using that Jojodiff utility to patch ROMs? I'm just trying to add the flex fuel patch to my Evo8 SD rom and getting very frustrated with that app, which I think may have changed over the years. The instruction "jptch" seems like it may be out of date. The app is calll JDiff and I see "JPatcht.cpp" and "JPatcht.h" in the win/src directory, but can't get any recognition of the patching aspect of the utility at the command prompt. I can't only get it to recognize JDiff.exe. There is no jptch.exe file or JPatcht.exe file. Maybe I overlooked an easier way? Help!
EDIT: I figured out the problem. The latest version of JDiff (2020) doesn't include jptch.exe. I downloaded the old version and there it was. Problem solved!

Can’t believe this thread is so dead. I just tried this with E85 for the first time. It definitely works, although I’m planning to go standalone for different reasons. Still, this is a very cost effective flex fuel solution.
I never knew the patch was out there for free. My toon is still locked to this day so I can't touch it because it was supersecret at the time LOL
things are definitely different than when the Evo community was first established.
so much information being kept secret.

The patch for an Evo 8 ROM was out there for free. I don't remember anyone posting the Evo 9 patch online, but maybe I missed it.
It still is out there for the Evo8 for free in this thread. I think there is a widely believed myth that you can’t do stock ECU flex fuel without paying for some license or getting a pro tune.
The Evo tuning world is insanely open compared to almost all other platforms minus domestics.
The VW / Audi world is just now starting to open up with HPTuners having a self-tuning solution for both ECU and Gearbox. However, most VW / Audi owners still think canned tunes from "euro" companies are gods gift.
I'm in a discord group that is disassembling the VW/Audi roms and they created flashing and high speed logging tools using the Tactrix OpenPort. It reminds me of the Evo glory days.

I liked it when everyone was excited to discover new stuff and couldn't wait to share.
I must have missed it over the years, I remember someone saying you had to recompile the ROMs (wording escapes me on the procedure) for the 8 to do the merge. I'm going to have to re-read this.
