OP1.3 cable question, identify capacitors.

My OP1.3 died on me the other day. Luckily not during a flash, it will datalog but not read/write. I opened it up thinking something may have happened to the cable and found that one of the capacitors was cooked (c4). I have a copy of the schematic from openecu.org however, all it specifies is that it is a 2.2uf cap. I am hoping to find the rest of the specs on the cap if possible. I have enough confidence with a soldering iron that i have successfully de-soldered the old cap and if i can find a replacement for a couple of bucks I am willing to give it a shot. Here is what I think it is but I am not 100% sure. Any/all help is appreciated.

Thanks.
Mike.

That should work fine. Only thing I am unsure is, is the package size. You can look at the datasheet from Digikey and near the bottom it will give the mechanical dimensions of the part. Compare that to the one you pulled out. Or just make it fit and get it on the right way!! It's polarized!!

My cable and a friend's cable cable did the same thing. Any chance they had a bad batch of cables? They are expensive to just go up in smoke like that.

So then any CAP will work then? Does it have to be Tantalum or can it be a Ceramic?

I am really starting to lean towards picking up a OP2.0 and just use this one for logging.

I don't think that was the case in mine.... It is over 3 years old and has a lot of use, but it is possible i suppose.
between my talon and the STI I had

You could use a ceramic instead, probably with better specs anyway and cheaper! Then you won't have to worry about getting in there backwards like the tantalum. I don't know why they would go bad other than, in backwards (would go rather fast!), bad from factory, ridiculous voltage spikes, temperature. Drop in a ceramic at 25V+ and with the same or more capacitance. Still make sure to check the size before ordering!

I've had my 1.3 cable for 4 years and it still works! If you need help soldering let me know. I solder stuff way smaller stuff than this for work (down to 0402 parts). This is a cake walk.

My 1.3u did the same thing as well. I'm just going to get the 2.0 and hopefully be done with it.

I think my 2nd 1.3u cable just died. This is getting really old. Are the 2.0 any more durable?
