Tephra V7 - Richer AFR's after big map conversion?

Hey guys, looking for some help.

I converted my current tune to the Tephra V7 and have a problem. I had to use the big map translator of course to rescale my fuel and ignition tables for the big maps in v7, but went out for the first log and right off the bat I am seeing consistently richer AFR's than before. 12.0 -11.9 AFR to a 11.5-11.3 AFR on V7.

I checked everything I could find to make sure they were scaled the same, all tables, comps, sizing, seem to all be the same.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Any suggestions? What the heck am I missing?

Thanks in advance,

Ryan

Did you change trim crossover points to stop LTFT affecting WOT?

Did you have lean spool enabled in your old rom, if so did you transfer settings if different than stock?

Also you still need to dial in the map. You can't just use the translator and your set. It is a tool to help you get to the big map, not fine tune it. My afr's went the opposite way yours did, mine actually were .2-.4 leaner.

Plus what was said above.

Two very good ideas. I will check and report back on my findings. I was wondering If I would have to dial it in or not, I wasnt sure just "how close" everything would convert over.

Thanks a lot guys!

Well, got bored and took a look sooner than I thought

I didnt find any trims that I had changed, or that were different from rom to rom, and my lean spool setup looks the same from rom to rom as well.

Now knowing that the map will not convert over perfect ( it will need some fine tuning THX reaperx) I think that was just the majority of my problem. I think I was assuming it would convert over and my air fuels would match spot on. That not being the case, I got some logging and tuning to do!

Thanks again

LTFT doesnt affect WOT fueling on the 8/9s. It only does that on the Xs.

Thanks Jay.
So if the crossover values are messed up for some reason and "LTFT high" drift they still won't affect fueling? Even if LTFT mid are used at wot? Good to know!

ReaperX,

I looked around and noticed the Tephra ROM I had downloaded had a few notes with it. One of them just happened to be that lean spool was disabled. (HOW did I miss that!)

Once I figured out how to enable lean spool, my AFR's came right in, within about +/-.2 AFR.

Unfortunately I didnt notice this until I spent the night retuning the whole Fuel Map with lean spool disabled lol.

Anyways, problem solved!! Figured I would share the fix to my problem

Thanks again
