Going to 96530706 Tephra phenem v2 from 96940011

I have been using the JDM 3 bar sensor in the 96940011 rom with mrfred's tables and settings since 2009. I use this to log boost as well in Evoscan 2.9. I am on Ecuflash 1.44.3

I want to change to the 96530706 tephra phenem v2 to take advantage of the big maps for timing and fuel but need the MAP sensor tables and settings to paste into the .xml as they are not in the phenem v2 xml.

I tried pasting the MAP tables from 96940011.xml but the addresses are wrong and the data isnt showing correctly.

Car:

2005 USDM MR 6spd

Current 96940011 load based gear based boost control
GM 3 port solenoid
MAF based
JDM MAP sensor installed and working for 3 years
Atlanta GA ~ 1000 ft above sea level
minor bolt ons
self tuned
330 ftlb 320 whp VD @27psi tapering to 23psi

If anyone can post up the correct tables, addresses and settings for the 96530706 phenem v2 for using the JDM 3 bar sensor, I would really appreciate it

Milburn

There are no MAP sensor tables for the 9653xxx6 ROM, just plug & play.

Ok Thanks !

ps Will Evoscan still be able to pull the boost level from the map sensor?

Yep. Use EvoScan log reference JDMMAP on request ID 38. You will need to modify the local air pressure (bold value used in the calculation) "0.19347*x-14.5" to suit.

Cdrinkh20 Yep got it now. Thanks for your reply !!

BTW are you on the 96530706 or the speed density version 96531706? Just curious.. not planning on going SD. pics and dyno plot would be nice :-)

Ok everything is swapped over and logs ok.

i have one issue and comment. Other than the flash no other changes were made.

Cold / warm idle perfect no issues at all

Comment....i do not see any of the high 2000 rpm idle fault issue that many have had. Cold idle is fine 1700 rpm and then warm idle is spot on at 850 ( 850 target ). No drop of idle when coasting to stop.

One issue...once warm i am experiencing a tip in stumble as if it is starving for fuel as the throttle is cracked open.

EvoScan report the idle as 13.3 % so the BISS is set right.

I am thinking that one of the accel tables or off idle tables is different from the previous 96940011 ROM.

Has anyone had this issue? What was the fix if it wasn't hardware related like IACV ( remember mine was fine before the flash and it goes away if i reflash the old 96940011 back on )

If anyone can point me to the correct table to edit, it would be much appreciated.

You will more than likely need to re-adjust the BISS, especially if you see a PO505.

No codes at all according to EvoScan. i'll look with Scan Tech though.

The idle isnt off though....it is only on tip in throttle that the rpms drop.

I'll go through the BISS adjustment though.... after that i will start with the Accel vs TPS and delta TPS tables

You need to adjust your async accel tables. Adjust your Async v. RPM table. Do you have injectors? You may need to work on your fuel injector tables also...

I personally would use 9417 on your car and not 9653.

9417 has become the universal EVO 8 ROM more then 9653 is now.

No injectors, they are stock.

I have already played with that table adjusted it up in the lower region and it does nothing. adjusted several other Async tables as well to no avail.

Adjusted the BISS twice on the 96530706 just to make sure using EVoSCAn

I have gone back to the 96940011 while I think about the issue again.
96940011 has no issues whatsoever so please dont tell me it's the BISS or the throttle seals or the injectors or the IACV is bad ... they function very well on the 96940011 and are adjusted and have been adjusted on the 96530706.....

Unless you know this problem having had it and found the correct fix, please stay out of my thread.

mrfred, i will be taking your advice and looking at the MAF scaling and compensation tables again.

having the same problem as the OP, 9417 ROM SD with precision 1000s on 93.
have adjustment all the async tables and no change whatsoever.
issue is just tip in, basically put the car in 1st gear, slowly let the clutch off and car pins lean and bogs if i get to let the clutch out and let the car roll, it will stumble to 500rpms and pressing the gas has no effect from the lean condition until the rpms climb to around 1500 and it richens up and accelerates just fine!

heres my current tables.

sounds like you have it worse. my 9653 ROM only does it on tip in 850 rpm drops to 500, catches and goes up. I can manually hold the idle @ 1000 but again a tip in drops the rpms and then she catches. Idle itself is steady at 850 no issues with that.

Did you adjust the BISS via EvoScan as was suggested to me ?

I also have adjusted all the Async tables in the 9653 to no avail.

Send me your ROM and i'll look at it and see if those tables are the same ones defined in the 9653 ROM. Maybe we can put our heads together and fix this very irritating issue.
