first of all it's evo 4 with 8 ecu and doesn't have auto IC sprayer, just manual on off switch there. for map switching I've installed switch between pins 81(VREF 5V) and 42(ADC0F input). just a regular on/off switch, without any leds, resistors etc.

in the rom, alt maps master is set to 1 and 'ADC0F input must exceed..' table set to 3.02v
when I switch the switch on, I get 4 volts in the loop, so everything works I think. but the CEL doesn't blink as it does when I switch maps via TPS.

so is it normal to not to blink CEL when switching maps and the ecu still switches them ?

I thought it was supposed to blink the ICS light. I have the ICS light output wired to the cruise light in my dash and it flashes when in alt map mode. This is EVO Ecu in a 1g DSM though.

My point was, i havent seen where it will flash the CEL, only that it will flash the ICS light on the evo8's. That is unless you have something else wired to the ICS light output wire from the ecu like i do. You can also set if you want it to blink that light or not in the tephra mods table. If you are trying to confirm they are indeed working just change you injector scaling in the alt maps and see if the afrs swing accordingly. I have yet to successfully log in evoscan when the alt maps are active or triggered.

 

in tephra mod options if set 3 (to switch via tps) cel will blink for a certain time. fast when on alt maps, slow back to main map

Maybe im missing it, but i dont see anything in the tephra mod table that relates to flashing the CEL while on alt maps. Only flashing the ICS Light. Also is you have the CEL setup to flash on knock, would that not become confusing if its flashing setup to flash for both?

211, i have tried the following in evoscan

Alt Maps, Mut 40 "x"
ALT Map Activation, Mut 00 " x"
Alt Map Input Voltage, Mut 83 "x*5/255"

Im also using the 5v input method for trigger from my meth injection.

 

It only flashes the CEL when on TPS alt map mode (Set alt map MODE to 3). It only flashes the CEL for a couple seconds when you actually hold down the pedal to switch maps. It is hard coded you cannot change it.

 

If you need something to tell you which map you are on you should wire in an LED to come on when you are on alt map.
