Alt Map Not Working After Car Warm

I have a strange issue with the alternate map. I have an 05 Evo VIII MR running the Phenem posted Tephra 96531706 ROM with SD using the JOT wiring harness for the ADC0F switch with the Tephra table set to "1".

I've used the alt-map functionality with the JOT harness on Tephra V5.1 96530006, and it worked fine then.

The alt-map works fine while the car is warming up. It even works after reaching 185*F coolant temps. However, after about 5 miles of driving, the alt-map stops working. The indicator LED still comes on, it's just the map doesn't seem to switch. I'm verifying the switch over with idle timing. I started noticing the the malfunction after doing pulls back to back, and my boost not changing to the alt-map settings.

After I let my car sit for 20 minutes, and coolant temps drop a bit, the alt-map switch still does not work. However, after letting my car sit overnight, the switch works again. Until after a few miles of driving.

I attempted to log the alt-map operation with Evoscan using instructions outlined in the Evo Wiki. Unfortunately, MUT 00 stays in "3" regardless if the alt-map is activated or not. MUT 83 remains at a constant 0.254902 volts. Those values stay constant even when I verify the alt-map is working during warm up.

My next step is to actually measure the voltage at pin 42 during warm up, while it's working; then, measuring the voltage again when the ADC0F switch ceases to switch the maps. I've done a search, and did not find any threads with others experiencing this issue.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hey bro it sounds like you r having a component issue with you JOT harness, you're not the first , but that is the problem with electronic components floating inline with a harness. You could check the components but you might aswell not bother

I'm suspecting one of the resistors might have gone bad. If that's the case, then it shouldn't be a problem to repair.

Thanks for the input. I thought I was missing something in the configs.

Yeah it's not hard to fix but from the way you describe it I bet you just have a cold solder joint on one of the components
