issues logging aem uego with evoscan microsoft 8

issues logging aem uego with evoscan microsoft 8
i couldnt get my wideband to log... it would show a yellow exclamation sign over the port when i looked in device manager using an older cable.
my suspicion was it was because of windows 8.
ended up purchasing a prolific usb to serial that said it was "windows 8 compatible".
plugged it in, didnt install any driver, it loaded the driver automatically.
Now when checking the port, it shows the port is working normally.
started the car up, plugged in the 1.3 tatrix cable and the new prolific cable.
started up evoscan.
changed the evoscan wideband settings to "Com 5"....
and waaalaaahh...
works like a charm.
