I made some changes earlier, I'm 100 up through 2750, and at 60 at 3000. I'll go from there and see how it does.

Goals right now are to set boost to 20 with as quick of a spool as I can get (and still have good boost control when I downshift into the gear. When I get my wideband I'll tune for 22. I think I can be happy for a while.

Long term goals, 350whp on 93 with minimal mods. Possibly moving to a TME6.5 or 71HTA some day. I would also like to build a 2.4l on the side to have just in case, not sure on my turbo choice there.

What is your end goal in this? A certain whp? A certain psi?

Boosting nicely again, sorry for the drama.

But, I have to do some testing. I'm worried that my pulls aren't going to be the same boost as when I downshift and go WOT again. I'll post up what I find.

Your pulls will not necessarily match the response time when shifting. The spool will be slower because it's using less WGDC when you're in higher RPMs. This is where the error correction comes into play. If you can get your base WGDC to be almost perfect without correction, set the correction interval to the smallest amount (1), and spend some time making sure your correction percentages are properly sized for your interval, you'll be perfectly pleased.

When I first set up my 3-port I did not take enough time getting my base WGDC to be awesome. I also didn't zero out the lowest upward correction values and ended up with oscillating boost and load. Once I figured it out what was happening I spent some more time doing what I just told you to do and am completely happy with it.

The issue I was having before was that I had my 3rd gear pull just as I wanted it. But if I would downshift from 4th and land maybe 5000 or so, I would over boost. I was hitting 20.5 tapering to 19.5. When I would drop in and go wot, I was hitting 23. I'll eventually tune for that, just not yet.

Look at post #10 in this thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...t-control.html

This is a great example of how to setup a WGDC table for a 3-port on V7.

I'm running stock-ish boost and am going to be tuning it myself.

Anything helpful to add?

I just want to point out that if you have the MAX Upward correction table Raptord and I referenced earlier zeroed out, the ECU will never run more WGDC than in the main WGDC map. The "underboost" part of the correction only happens after the ECU has already pulled WGDC resulting in less WGDC in your main map.

Aggie, you will likely have slightly slower spool when downshifting, depending on how aggressive your "WGDC=100% under this load" table is. Ive zeroed it out for driveability reasons, accepting a small loss in spool. Having the boost come on and off like a switch is no bueno during autocross.

I think I have it at 100 now. Since I turned it down, my 3-point is clicking like crazy. Super noisy. I need to insulate it.

My problem with downshifting is that sometimes I overboost when it happens.

I haven't logged since my last change. Let me see if I can get things settled in. I'll also try to post a log and my settings.

Thanks for all the assistance everyone.

Im sure you realize this, but 100 is 0 psig. 200 would be roughly stock wastegate pressure. The wastegate should stay closed below wastegate pressure, so a setting below 200 shouldnt be much different than a setting of 0.

Mine clicks like crazy too. Sometimes I catch myself thinking its a lifter. ha

I was tuning with it at 0, but the ticking was driving me nuts. It ticks less with it up to 100, that's really the only reason I have it up right now. I'm sure I'll end up with it back at 200 when I finish up.

Drove a little at lunch and the car felt great. 40 degree weather helps, too.

I am pushing 30lbs on my stock turbo, and all.. i would recommend to get you A/F Ratios on point. thats a big issue, i would bring it in to a shop maybe to put it on a dyno unless you have access to one, that way you can play with your maps etc...

I understand your concerns and appreciate it. Wideband will be on the car very soon and I'll log and make adjustments then.

One of the reasons I stopped messing with my BMW was because I was sick of having to pay a shop to tune it. Never again. I don't like paying people to do my hobby for me.

I really do appreciate your concern, though. I don't want anyone popping their motors. I'm running good 93 and I'm not getting any knock. I'm not letting boost get above 21psi.
