FPBlack/Boost issue...need help!!!

Hey guys,

I need some brainstorming here. The car cruises fine and its all great mechanically from what I can see. Here's the issue, when I try to floor it, the boost just spikes to 15-20psi but the car doesn't go anywhere and it hits a boost cut. Now I'm thinking my Grimmspeed 3-port went bad or its a BIG boost leak. The map is fine and everything seems installed right. Also because I thought the boost lines were switched I re-installed them the opposite way and it did the same thing(weird), they are back the right way now though.

Thanks in advance I really want to get this done im dying to track the car

Have you asked your tuner yet? Im still farely new to all this but to me it would seem to be something wrong with the boost controller like you said or maybe the tune. And if Im not mistaken a boost leak wouldnt cause that if anything it wouldnt let you build any boost.

The tune is exactly the same as before I built the motor, my tuner will be out till wednesday thats why i posted it here. Im thinking I should just get a Hallman and ditch the 3port.

clearly the first thing you should do is a boost leak test/check your plugs.

Plugs are new, I really have no way to check for boost leaks at the moment but I really can't hear anything that sounds like a boost leak and I've tightened all the pipes, usually when one off the pipes is off the boost gauge wont go past "0" here im spiking 20psi...so idk but i will check again.

I was just doing some research and the problems seem to be differrent things but most of um are boost leaks I dont know how but thats what they are. Use the search tab so you can see what Im talking about. Just search boost spike.

Jerks and then bang...it almost always happens when I hit 4K rpm

The gap on the plugs is stock but I have a Non-cdi so I dont know if that would be an issue

You have no way to do a boost leak test but you built a motor? Ebay, search boost leak tester, auto parts store, 7 gallon air tank...done, boost leak tester, or build your own for $10 bucks and buy a cheap air compressor

It sounds like a bad boost leak, you can't hear them all, generally unless it's your lower you can't hear it at all.

I didnt build it, I have no room for a compressor in my garage, my car barely fits I actually am leaning towards the boost leak now.

no just one vaccum line to wastegate from outlet pipe it should run off wastegate psi whatever one you have 25 or 18 is what fp offers if it runs more boost then what you were getting chances are problem is with your 3-port
