What maps does 3step use?
On the 3step rev limit (WOT shifting) what map set is the engine using?
It would be nice to put some retard in the 3 step to hold more boost between shift changes so if it reverted to the launch map set I think it would do what I want.
Lets hear your thoughts on this.

It does not use a map. When you meet the load, speed, and tps threshold criteria it just drops the rpm and applies an ignition cut. What you're looking for is something like and sas system that the rally cars use. I think Ratsbud was working on something like that for usdm evos.
It fuel cuts to a new engine rpm. Normal timing and fuel maps are used. A pattern of fuel injection events is just cut until the rpm meets target . Current - nlts drop = new rev limit.
Fuel cutting is safer than ignition, it's pumping charge cooled air through the motor with out adding fuel.
When I enable cyclic idle with my vipec the car will never warm up within a reasonable amount of time.

^ Yup. I couldn't remember if it was a fuel or ignition cut.
Just think of it as a secondary rev limit much like the stationary rev limit on the oem roms before tephra gave us launch maps. It just uses the map your main maps, or alt if you've switched to that.
