Evo X Mode 23 required to log?
Evo X Mode 23 required to log?
I'm running a OP2 cable that I used on my 2g DSM for 2-3 years with no problem. It seems like the latest versions of EvoScan are so finicky compared to v2.6. I still can't get EvoScan to log any data from my Evo X GSR. It's the typical error message "Cable not recognized."
ECUFlash reads the current map, so I know the cable is good. All the drivers were successfully loaded as well.
Simple question concerning the X. Does Mode 23 need to be enabled just to log? I'm on the stock tune and don't want to void my warranty, so enabling Mode 23 is out of the question. All I want is to do some basic logs and use Map Tracer to understand what my car is doing.

Yes, mode 23 does have to be activated for logging. Yes, technically this does mean altering your ecu but mits are highly unlikely to know this, and even less likely to look. As a point of reference I put my modded ra back to stock inc reflashing back to stock (with mode 23 enabled) for sst warranty work & no dramas. Plenty of people have done the sam. Personally would not think twice about such a minute change
What does mode 23 do exactly?
I enabled it so i can log properly using EvoScan, but now that i am building a stand-alone logger, I'd like to find out what mode 23 does different than standard CAN logging.
