I'm trying to follow the Tuning guide from Merlin....for the ralliart and evo x now i'm on page 33 which is the DTC elimination-rear 02 sensor related dtc

I've tried a few things and it seems its not working and yes i am following it to a tee as far as this section goes for the instructions

so it says

To eliminate these DTC, two steps need to be done:

First, open ECU option #2 and set bit 01=0

Second, do the P0139/P0140 disable, for your particular ROM, as shown below.

Now one thing i haven't tried for step one is to set it to 01=0

i have tried 0 and 0x0 but nothing else and no result changing to 0 it stays at 1. I have located the ECU options at the bottome of the list in ECU flash

any help would be again very muchly appreciated

at this time i have a check engine light and this is mainly why i am tuning the car but other reasons as stated before in this thread.

MUCH thanks already to franzcars for getting me rolling on this with maps....you da man

Talking

just tryed that and it changed the value to 0

By luck I pressed the right one haha I guess if I press the other one I would be at 2

Neat

would this be all i need to eliminate the 02 sensor or would i have to do the step 2 as well which states

Second, do the P0139/140 disable, for your particular ROM as show below

Now my particular ROM is 52690028 as far as i know

I'm going to search for this right now if not tomorrow

You most likely will have to change it anyway, otherwise it will throw the code. all you'll have to do is put in 8000, no need for 0x

I will have to do both not just one right?

Because i believe i would have to change the one to 8000 and then the other needs changing to

i'll check it when i get home from work but I did change them before i changed the ecu option #2

That means diabling P0139 and P0140 which I have no trouble doing

I' just hoping these three disables the cel i do not want to add to my definition but i guess if i have to i will i've seen a lot of crazy ways to get ride of the 02 sensor...you'd think this would be it considering it's a X and should have newer and more advanced software to make this happen.

thanks

Yup after those 3 things you're good to go. Also I think you said you O2 is out, but if its not do not leave it in if the sensor is turned off otherwise you'll fowl it

Thumbs up

I have mode 23 and i've just done all three P0139/P0140 /ECU option #2

At this point reflash and then start logging?

It just makes sense because right now the ecu would not have these changes on it only the rom that I downloaded of the ecu has the changes.

Now i have the original ROM if needs be i need to flash that back in

But ya that is what I have done with help so far

I'm gonna try and reflash tonight

Would i need to clear the codes before i reflash or will the reflash clear the codes for me since i did the 3 steps to disable the 02 sensor??

The codes should clear but you should be good to go. Also do not shut the car off if ecuflash doesn't tell you too, just in case something isn't right, and have the original ready

codes didn't clear.......and i cannot find out how to use evoscans way of checking and clearing them although i did this before when i first pulled the rom.

I'm going to clear the codes with my code reader and see what happens over the next few day on my way to work...obviously daily driven......

GOOD new second hahah flashed and the car runs at least the first time i ran it went to tim hortons and back through the drive threw haha

anyways looks like i've got over the biggest hurtle getting everything linked up to provide a basis to which i can now tweek things

anything i'm missing?

seems to run much better or maybe it's cause i had no music on...have to start loggin on the way to work....i have a 35 minute commute at the momment......

Thank you

thanks looks like it opens in a minimal size therefore i couldn't see the bottom menu. MAximized evoscan and then i could see log 1 and log 2

Did a log on warm up and then stopped it then did a log on the drive in to work today....

I looked at some of the results as I can only see one peramiter at a time on the graph neat really neat.

everything is working great so far.

I'm thinking next is log some more like WOT and other pulls in 3rd and 4th. THen see where I am at for the knock first and then some other things that I have been told to look for then comes the tweeking

I'm currently just keeping an eye out for the check engine light. ITs been off for over an hour of driving so i'm really happy about that.
