EVO IV stock ECU rom on EVO 8 ECU

Hello all,

I wanted to ask you for some help. I recently bought an Evo IV, previous owner changed the ECU so the car currently has en EVO 8 ECU in it. Problem is the car used to have some mods that are not there anymore. Engine was recently rebuilt and it is currently stock. I have no intention at the moment to change anything but to run the car as it is for a while before playing around with the map. Problem is I haven't been able to find a stock Evo IV ECU Rom, can anyone help me with it? Can I use the stock Evo 8 or other Evo's stock rom? If you can, please guide me a little bit with this so I can put the car back on the streets. Car has oem fuel injectors at the moment.

Thank you!
Alex

the injector and maf sensor calibration doesn't match in the evo 8 ecu for the Evo 4 .

Damn, I'm not really sure about the current rom but I know from what the previous owner told me it is a custom one. The car has the original fuel injectors 510cc I believe and the MAF I guess the oem one as well

What about using an stock EVO 5 ECU?

I just want to start the car and use it as a daily car so I don't want any mods or anything else yet, what can you recommend me?

Get the harness back to stock and use the EVO 4 ECU? (By the way I don't have it)

There is no way to get the EVO 4 ECU Rom?? Just to flash it a leave it like that at least for a while?

The Evo IV ECU wasn't flashable, so there's no ROM to be had. The best you can do is modify the Evo 8 ROM to match your injectors/MAF and flash it to your current ECU.

It would be more convenient to use a e5/6 ecu & you won't have to swap any wiring/pins.
You need to insert the correct scaling/latencies for the 510cc (yellow) injectors or use the 560cc (brown) injectors (E5~9). No need to swap MAF sensor as the difference between E4 & E8 MAF is negligible.

Previous owner did the wiring changes that's why I just want to get the stock EVO 8 ROM but adjusted to the 510cc fuel injectors..I guess that's all I need now.

Maf is the same but would use 560cc E5-E9 injectors just because its easy to copy and paste everything over.
