Hi. I have Tommei poncam cams installed, and i use tommei rec. mivec settings: ( att )

exhaust:
2500 - 3500rpm -30 and etc. at load > 120.

I never sean any surge, my afr is ~12, egt 800C at max and no knocks at all.

But over the past two months I have killed 2 new stoc turbos ( TD05H-152G6-12T )

Could this be due for such mivec settings?

 

The mivec timing on that isn't dissimilar from mine, however, I run 25 rather than 30 degrees on the exhaust during spool. Any more than that and I got surge with an FP red......

I'd start with the basics, oil feed line/return/boost leaks etc

You could have a partially blocked oil line
You could be over spinning it to hit your boost/load numbers due to boost leaks etc.....

Other than that, time to speak to a tuner.......
