Dialing in Launch Map using Tephra V7
Dialing in Launch Map using Tephra V7
I have just started to test the launch map feature in Tephra V7 and did four launches so far. Note I am running E85 on stock evo IX turbo. See four attached log files.
1st run(20.21.57) - knock sum too high - wgdc = 0 - looking at knock voltage this looks like false knock to me, my knock background noise multiplier is set at stock settings
2nd run(20.22.36) - built 23psi, launched, spun tires, load1B dropped, wgdc hit 100% due to low load, overboosted to 31psi(target was 24psi), overall though this was the best awd launch I have ever experienced
3rd run(20.30.38) - knock sum too high - wgdc = 0
4th run(20.32.38) - built 15psi, launched, no wheel spin, smooth run, but nothing like run 2
I had a friend video run 4, below is the link:
Based on the above runs I am thinking I need to increase my knock background noise multiplier in the 5K and 5.5K rpm areas, to prevent run 1 and run 3 issues.
Does that sound correct?
Also any advice on what to do when load1b dropped in run 2, that caused my wgdc=100% under this load table to kick in, causing the overboost.
Any other input is welcome.
Thanks,
David

I wouldn't use wgdc below load 100 percent. Then you can use the 0 gear column for tuning wgdc on launch and even have alternative launch settings.(Alt maps) I found doing this compliments changing conditions easily
The rest I'll let someone more knock intuitive assess.
