Benchflash fails

Bricked my Ecu yesterday. Spent 7 hours benching it, still couldn't do anything.

Basically, it would bench it fine in alt mode. But when I right after try to flash in normal mode I get J2456 error timeout.

Should I use alt mode, then plug ECU into car then use normal mode? Or can I use alt mode, and then right after normal mode while ECU is still wired in manually?

EcuFlash version: 1.44 - Latest

Also, my tune was produced with version 1.39 and modifying it in any way in V 1.44 seem to brick ECU in the first place... any advise would be helpful.

P.S. Bricked my car 10 mins away from my home - broke the rule of never flashing unless in my garage.

Figured it out.

I was on EcuFlash version 1.39 and the upgraded to 1.44, but for some reason it didn't upgrade the drivers properly. Un-installing, re-installing didn't help, so I grabbed another laptop and installed EcuFlash there. All worked smooth.

So it's wrong version J2456 driver.
