1G DSM with 2G ECU and ECUflash - Where to start?
1G DSM with 2G ECU and ECUflash - Where to start?
1990 Eagle Talon AWD 5-speed manual turbo
Engine - unknown aftermarket cams, 2G pistons with 1G rods
Turbo - MHI B16G, wastegate boost
Exhaust - Evo 3 exhaust manifold, Evo 3 O2 housing, full 3 inch catless exhaust
Intake - 2G MAF, hard intake piping, supra side mount, 2g throttle body elbow
Fuel - 650cc FIC injectors, stock FPR, unknown if fuel pump was upgraded
EM - 2G flashable black box ECU, ECUflash and Evoscan, AEM UEGO wideband O2
Car is currently untuned. Only ECU setting that has been changed is the injector size.
History:
Bought this car as a barely running project. Put it back together using a lot of my own parts. Had a tuner lined up, but he currently is not available. No local tuners available within a several hour radius.
Question 1: If running only wastegate boost, can I get by with what I assume is probably a stock fuel pump and a stock FPR?
Question 2: I am a novice tuner and I would like to get this car driveable on a safe tune without having to tow it several hours away if possible. After Question 1 is settled, would it be possible after posting logs and getting forum help for me, a novice tuner, to get the car tuned safe enough to drive? I am not looking for all out power in the short run, only to have a car that's more than an AWD paperweight.
