JDM EVO X ECU all options greyed out

Im still new to the EVO X and ECU Flash, I have a tactrix open port 2.0 and have hooked it up to the car to read the stock ROM, however all of the ecu options are greyed out and wont allow me to edit anything in the map. User level is already set to developer. Please need help asap as the factory tune is picking up a bit of knock here on reg pump fuel since its not 100 oct like in Japan. Memory Model: M32186F8 car is 2008 EVO X GSR SST Premium.

I may be missing something simple, please help

Hi,

What is the version of your ecuflash?

Could you read a rom file from your car via ecuflash and saved it?

If you could, you should be able to see you rom id. What is your rom id?

Have you already installed definitions (especially for your rom id)?
For example, definitions are be able to be downloaded at RALLInspired.

If you have already installed the definition for your rom id, ecuflash should display maps of your rom automatically.

Thank you for your help. I was able to download the home, at first it downloaded in .SRF I then changed it to.BIN to see if that made a difference. I am able to download the file and test read/write. Im not sure about the definitions in the correct folder. At the time when I usde ecuflash I dont even think the evo X had come out as yet. My car information is showed under ROM info . ECUID and Case ID are blank. Internal Id: SM5237, flashmethod:mitsucan,memorymodel:M32186F8,Inherits :SM5236

>at first it downloaded in .SRF I then changed it to.BIN
If you mean that after reading the rom from your ECU, you saved it as .SRF and renamed the file to .BIN by hand(for example, renamed using explorer), that is not good.
If you mean that first after reading the rom from your ECU, you saved it as .SRF and second after reading from your ECU, you saved it as .BIN, that is no problem.

>however all of the ecu options are greyed out
I guess you mean all of the ecu maps(tables) of your rom are grayed out as if your user level is not set to developer.
Usually, when a rom is opened with correct definition, and user level is set to developer, maps(tables) are not grayed out.

Below is the steps to try to solve the issue(my recommend).

First, check your ecuflash version. If the version is older than 1.44.4799, download 1.44.4799 and install it cleanly.

Then, install all definitions on the site that I showed in my previous post(RALLInspired) to your 'rommetadata/mitsubishi/evo/' folder.
e.g.
Download all definitions on the site that I showed in my previous post.
If your 'rommetadata' folder is set to 'C:/Users/your user/Documents/EcuFlash/rommetadata/',
paste all of the definitions into 'C:/Users/your user/Documents/EcuFlash/rommetadata/mitsubishi/evo/'
(See File/Options/rommetadata. 'rommetadata' folder is defined there.)

Restart your ecuflash and open your rom that you readed and saved. Check whether the issue solved or not.

If still not solved, attach your stock rom that you readed to your next post. We can check it. (I guess your ROM ID is 523700**.)

I have tried all of these steps with no success.Including updating ECU flash downloading all of the rom definitions, making sure the rommetadata directory is set to the right location and also user level to Developer . Please see attached for ROM i was able to download from the cars ecu. Thanks again for your help.

Yes, that's your problem, no rom for ECUFlash to reference. Unfortunately, I don't know where you can grab a copy :/

Your ID is 52370008. As you noticed and Metal_AF wrote, there is no definition for 52370008 on rallinspired.com.

Attached is the definition for 52370008. Paste the file into your 'rommetadata/mitsubishi/evo/' and try it.
