HELP tuning stock Evo 6 TephraV7

I have an Evo 6 with an Evo 7 (MR560648) ECU running TephraV7 90550701.
Car is basically stock except for 3" TBE, GM 3bar MAP sensor, Innovate LC-2 WB02, Turbosmart Wastegate w/ 12PSI Spring and stock boost pill removed.

On the stock flash image, the car consistently registers 3-14 counts of knock starting from 3K RPM up until I let off WOT. See below

Below is the High Octane Timing Map (top) and Low Octane Timing Map (Bottom). I have made the high octane map the same as the low octane timing map, but knocksum still registers.
Is there STILL too much timing in the low octane map? Could something else be causing the knock?

Sorry, I have little knowledge of these cars, but the AFR listed seems lean for a turbo car under WOT, no? I thought 11.5 is the norm under full load. Thanks.

I am no expert, but it seems you have too much timing and too lean AFR

Stop pushing the car and get it retuned ASAP. Too much timing and lean condition will lead to a window in your block.

What grade fuel are you using? Fuel is a bit lean & needs adjustment. But I believe that the knock counts are too high to be real, I bet it's phantom knock. Around 10 counts would be audible without det cans, unless you are using an external WG. Use a set of det cans to confirm whether knock is real or not.

Thanks for the replies - Noted on the fueling. Ill make adjustments and try again.
But, I am running the stock fuel map too - is there a reason why the stock E7 ROM cant run properly on a stock E6? Based on a few threads I thought the stock fuel map always runs rich?
My evo averages around 15L/100kms (15.5 MPG) and I never boost the car due to the knocking
Could it also be due to coils/spark plugs?

A variety of reasons would make it run lean, first, the 9055 Tephra fuel table is the same as the Rallitart rom which is leaner than the stock rom. The simplest of mods such as an aftermarket intake could bring it to the lean side, and it could be an aging fuel pump or/and MAF sensor. Also, an aging knock sensor is more prone to reading phantom knock, it might be a good idea to replace it with a new one.

stock rom = lean spool enabled. Still would do the usual boost leak test etc just to eliminate any potential issues there. Looks like real knock to me though, would be helpful to see knock voltage. Evo 6 is getting pretty old could just be old engine problems like carbon buildup etc. It would def be worth looking at the plugs and see what kind of story they tell. Fuel injectors could be dirty etc, all the old car problems could be on the table as a cause for your issues.

Under knock control - Have you compared the settings for 'knock multiplier' and 'knock gain' between your original (stock) rom and the new rom? The sensors settings are different across models. You have changed the ecu (rom) but not the knock sensor - perhaps your knock sensor is using the incorrect settings giving you innacurate knock results?

I’ve converted my 6 with an evo 8 usdm ecu a couple of years ago.
basically I started by copiing the original E6 values to the E8 rom as a baseline
then I started to maie adjustements from the beginning (inj scale and latencies, MAF scale, ...) after reading tons of very valuable info posted in this section.
works very fine !

PS : I will also recommend to use a 3 port GM boost solenoid and start with low boost.

looks like phantom...
p.s. earlier evos have different knock control code/multipliers. so, confirm that it's false knock, lower afr/timing bit more and then tune knock tables first
