hey, i finally got my tactrix cable 1.3 cable and wanted to read my ecu rom on my 04 evo 8. I get a read_image.srf and unknown rom Image popup. ive looked thru a few posts on this but havent gotten anywhere. most post they talked thru dm and didnt really write much about how they got it to work. I have the latest ecuflash software and pretty sure all the latest Tephra xml also so im trying to figure what else it could be.

Info on car bought a few years ago. i was told it was tuned but not much info on who or when just wanted to look at the rom and see whats been done to it and to later on tune it more after other mods are finally installed.

Try this. It looks like Tephra v7 tuned ROM 94170715. I cleaned the header added to prevent you from reading it.

 

I am finally working on my 4B12 2.4
chip part number is 1860A969.

My Tactrix arrived a week ago from San Fran, and I am itching to do something useful while Sydney is in lock down.

Any ideas on where to start or find an XML file for the 4B12 mivec engine?

I downloaded my custom tune by using ECUFlash and it saved it as an .srf file. When I try to open it I also get the UNKNOWN ROM Image pop up.

I tried searching for the xml definitions but a lot of the tephra links are dead. The files I did find, after moving them to the evo folder, the Unknown Rom Image still came up so I am not sure if I am doing things right or if I am completely off from what I need to be doing.

One of my old tuners used to use .srf files. I believe you can still upload it onto the ECU, but you just can't read it.

 

So I should be able to flash it still?

I also want to take a look as for some reason this tune causes a P0401 code and I am waiting on my tuner to send me a tune with the code disabled.

 

did you ever try and upload the .srf to ecu?
