immobilizer ix to vii ecu swap
immobilizer ix to vii ecu swap
my friend plan to swap ix cylinder head in vii
they have cylinder head ,ecu, harness but dont have ix ignition key
after searching for info we understand that if we swap thing the ecu will not let engine start due to wrong immobilizer code
we puchase tactrix and a mitsu cable also download a ecuflash to try this but not trying yet
the question is how to code vii immo to ix ? ---- we think we will work this way but need to confirm
1. we must retrieve immo code from vii
2. program new immo code from vii to ix ecu after we swap ecu and harness (just ig position on not start)
3. finish
is it work ? did we need to go into xml ? or any recommend ?
sorry for not good in english

As an anti-theft measure, the factory immobilizer is useless. There is no point in jumping through the hoops of trying to get it to work. Just disable it (as any thief easily would) and install a decent aftermarket alarm / anti-theft device. The info on how to disable it should be easy to find on this site.
