Hi, I have a 05` Evo9 JDM with tuned ECU by JSpeed. This is an original ECU with some additional switch with 4 maps.
My ECU number is 1860A501 (three connectors).
I want to go back to the stock map but my tuner suggested me to buy used ECU from any Evo9.
I try to find some ECU with same number like mine but it`s not easy.
1. Can I use ECU from Evo8 with three connectors also ? Are they the same or I have to use only Evo9 version?
2. Can I use USDM or EUDM versions of ECU in JDM Evo? What are the differences?

As far as I know there are some changes to map because of more strict USA emission regulations. I dont know what effect it will have on the car.
However I would consider buying aftermarket plug-in ECU, there is so much more you can do with it.
I use this one https://dealers.linkecu.com/EVO9X_2. Installation takes the same as OEM ECU and there are already some 'stock' maps included so you can drive your car right away
Evo 8/9 with 3 plug ECU are the same, 4 Plug won't Plug & Play.
Personally would reccomend a stand-alone Link ECU. We run one in our shop GTR running 500-600HP, hasn't skipped a beat. Also have a shop Evo V, Not finished yet though
