Hi All,

I am living in the UK and have a lovely EA3W 2003 Galant Estate 2.4GDI (Auto). I have been made aware through research that due to levels of sulphur in UK fuel at the time of sale, the GDI we have here has it's lean burn ability cut in half (20:1 instead of 40:1). As we have better fuel here now and given I only use premium 98 RON fuel I was hoping to flash the ECU with a fuel map that would make it run like the JDM ones did and have the potential for better fuel economy.

I have an Openport 2.0 but I have held off in getting the Mitsubishi adapter and MMCFlash and Evoscan because I am not sure about compatibility. I see that the Space Wagon 2.4GDI is compatible as well as the smaller engined 4G93 GDI Galant but cannot see compatibility for the 2.4 GDI 4G64 found in my Galant. I see MIVEC 2.4 GDIs are supported such as the ones found in later models we did not get in the UK

Would anyone please be kind enough to let me know if compatibility is possible and if I would potentially be able to flash a fuel map either from Mitsubishi with up to 40:1 lean burn or a custom map?

This has been difficult to get help with so id be so grateful for help

Edit: Just to add I'm aware I may need to swap my Cat for a JDM spec one. Even if I cant change it i'd still like to be able to get someone to do a custom fuel map
