adjusting the fuel maps??
adjusting the fuel maps??
want to adjust my fuel maps and i would like some input beforei start...... my car is flashed and my high and low fuel and timeing maps are the same....... i changed to low fuel map to stock and im going to adjust my high fuel map...... right now i am using a SAFC to take out 7% fuel to get my A/Fs to 10.8....... my question is what is a good number to start with for my adjustment....... .5+/- or 1+/- adjustment on the fuel map....... i know each car is different but i was wondering how much .5+/- adjustment made on ur A/F guage...... this is my first time flashing and i dont want to goto much on my first flash.
thanks

Best thing to do is check your air fuel without the afc on, since you do not need it anymore. Then flash from there in small increments til you reach your target airfuel. Me personally I would do 11.1, but I guess 10.8 is fine also
Why dont you try one click at a time?
Note there are many variables you can adjust to correct the MAF reading - not just the fuel map and the a/f specified in the fuel map is an arbitray number unrelated to the actual a/f.

yes the plain is to remove the SAFC..... without the SAFC my A/Fs are in the high 9s.......... and i also understand the numbers in the fuel maps are not the actual A/Fs...... so my question is how much to start adjusting by...... .1-/+ or .5-/= or 1.0-/+

I would definitely stay away from large jumps as said before.. Unless the car is running really rich where your certain a large jump won't cause the car to run too lean. This is something you get the hang of..

all right i changed both the low fuel and timing maps to stock and adjusted my high fuel map by +.5 and +.3......... im just waiting for EVOscan to flash it........
mike, you can use my a pocketlogger to watch your timing since you already have the lc-1/xd-16 combo. those two tools are all I've used so far to make adjustments on my car. you just have to make very small adjustments at a time.
